Over the river and through the woods to grandmother's ( and grandfather's) house we go...

Evan and I traveled to Upstate New York this past weekend to spend the holiday weekend with my family. This was Evan's 1st time at my parents house so we were so excited to go. The weather didn't want to cooperate but even so we were able to do some fun things. We brought Evan to the new "Wild Center" in Tupper Lake where they have otters, fish, turtles and other animals common to the Adirondacks. Evan loved looking at the fish and kept running back to them throughout the day! Sunday ended up being the only nice weather day we had so we went up to my parents cabin in Mountain View. The mountains have never been my favorite place but I do have to admit that it is very pretty up there. My parents haven't brought the "big boat" up to the lake yet, so we took turns going for rides in my dad's fishing boat. Evan enjoyed playing with his toys on the shore, but I think the highlight of his trip was finally getting to pet my parents cat, Buddy.
During the trip we also visited with my best friend, Carrie, her husband, Jon and daughter, Zoey. Evan warmed up to Zoey pretty quickly and they had fun running after one another in Ben and Jerry's (It was probably the ice cream!). It was also nice to attend church on Sunday and see Tim and Kitty. To say they're friends is not enough... It was so wonderful to see them both and listen to Tim's sermon. We had a great time!

I do have a green thumb!

This summer I finally decided to start my own vegetable garden. I've wanted to start one for a while now but with the luck I've had with plants in the past I didn't think I'd have much luck. To my surprise, I was wrong! It has been so easy and so much fun. I really enjoy going outside everyday and looking to see what has grown and changed. I decided to plant cucumbers, green peppers, cilantro, jalapeno peppers and hungarian wax peppers ( Josh's pick). My friend, Lisa, gave me a squash, zucchini and cherry tomato plant that she had already started. Everything has done so well. The squash and zucchini were the quickest to come up and now we are getting the cucumbers, tomatoes and soon some green peppers. It's nice to go and pick your vegetables for dinner right in your backyard~

Jason and Gigi welcome baby Marley!

On March 2, 2009, Jason and Gigi welcomed a baby girl, Marley Lee, into the world. She is so cute and is such a wonderful addition to the Glazier Family. We are looking forward to the two cousins getting together, I know Evan will teach Marley all sorts of mischievous things!
